Welcome to The Heritage Horticulture Skills Scheme (HHSS).

This scheme has focused on the practical side of gardening and offers the opportunity to hone your skills to become specialised.  Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund through its Skills for the Future programme, the scheme has operated for four years with an extension to finish in August 2016.  It aims to increase the number of highly skilled gardeners available to the heritage horticulture sector in Wales and the UK by offering training in practical, specialist techniques at gardens of special heritage interest.

The HHSS is administered by a group of garden sites: Aberglasney, Bodnant, Cardiff, Dyffryn, Newport, Picton and St Fagans.

Trainees receive quality practical training in specialised accredited modules with an emphasis on high practical skills.

The bursary is administered by Lantra on behalf of the Heritage Horticulture Skills Scheme.

Lantra and the HHSS welcomed applications from all sections of the community.
